Ali Ruhluel / Nicosia, July 27 () – Within the restarted talks to solve the Cyprus problem, The Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) President Mustafa Akıncı and the Greek Cypriot leader Nikos Anastasiades reunited at the building asigned by the United Nations for the talks.

After his meeting with the UN General Secretary special adviser on Cyprus, Espen Barth Eide, President Akıncı gave a joint declaration with Greek leader Anastasiadis, also announcing that territory and property criterias were on the table during the meeting held for 3.5 hours.

Akıncı also noted that the period beginning from the fall until the end of 2015 is highly significant, and encouraged that if the sides continue with the same determination and intentions, the solution could be achieved in months rather than years.

Mustafa Akıncı delivered another statement to the press, after his arrival to the Presidency at 13.30 and announced that the next meetings will be held on September 1 and September 14 respectively. Akıncı said that the sides have overviewed and confirmed the agreement which had been compromised in the previous meeting.

“I trust that we can construct a federal structure where both of the societies can live peacefully and in mutual trust, in a bi-communal structure. Thus the next generations can live in a happier and more peaceful island."

In the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, the new coalition government led by the TRNC Prime Minister Ömer Kalyoncu, the CTP-BG/UBP government, have achieved to receive vote of confidence on July 27.
