Istanbul, May 15 () - Turkey's unemployment rate rose by 1.0 percentage point to 11.2 percent in the February period, according to the Labour Force Statistics data released by Turkstat on Friday.

Number of unemployed aged 15 years old and over rose by 401 thousand to 3 million 226 thousand in the period of January, including December, January and February.

In the same period, non-agricultural unemployment rate rose by 1.1 percentage points to 13.2 percent, while youth unemployment rate including 15-24 age group soared by 3.0 percentage points to 20.0 percent.

Unemployment rate for 15-64 age group rose by 1.1 percentage points to 11.4 percent, over the same period.

Turkey's unemployment rate would rise by 0.5 points to 11.4 percent in 2015, from 9.9 percent in 2014 and rise further to 11.6 percent in 2016, according to the data in the IMF’s latest World Economic Outlook (WEO).
