Öykü Altuntaş / İstanbul, Feb 26 () - The 15th !f Istanbul Independent Film Festival will hold special screenings in Turkey's southeast provinces for Syrian refugees, with Arabic subtitles.

The selected five films will meet the audience in 11 different points in Gaziantep and Şanlıurfa, within an event coordinated by Kırkayak Kültür, a culture center operating in Gaziantep.

Live interviews with directors of the films will be broadcasted live within the film festival for refugees, following the screenings.

The International Zeugma Film Festival has been organized in Gaziantep and Syrian refugees have been asking why films with Arabic subtitles were not included in the programmes, said Kırkayak Kültür's coordinator Kemal Vural Tarlan.

Hundred of tousands Syrian refugees live in provinces incuding Gaziantep, Urfa and Kilis and "these people are not guests" urged Tarlan. "The two socities should learn how to live together and art is the best way to achieve that" he said.

Selected movies will particularly focus on stories of women who face "darkness, blockades, oppression, inured borders, but achieve to speed up, act, give birth to children on their own and sing songs".

The movies will be screened on Feb. 26 - 27- 28 at NGOs and community centers in Gaziantep and Şanlıurfa, offered to Syrian refugees for free.

"Into the Forest" will be screened on Feb. 26 at 19.00 p.m., while Oscar nominated "Mustang" will be showed on Feb. 27 at 13.00 p.m. , and "Speed Sisters" at 16.00 p.m.

"Sonita" film's screening will be held on Feb. 28 at 13.00 p.m followed by "Ma Der Behest" at 16.00 p.m.
