Istanbul, Jan 20 () - Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Vassily Nebenzia will visit Istanbul on Jan. 22, marking the first high level visit from the Russian government since the “jet crisis”.

A Russian SU-24 jet had been downed by Turkish F-16s on Nov. 24 last year, due to border breach and has triggered tension between the two countries.

Nebenzia, representing the Russian Chairmanship-in-Office of the Organization of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (BSEC) is expected to pay a working visit to the BSEC Headquarters in Istanbul.

According to the statement released by BSEC, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nebenzia will “announce the priorities of the Russian Chairmanship-in-Office of BSEC, followed by a press conference" at the BSEC Headquarters.
