Tolga Özbek / İstanbul, March 23 () - European aircraft manufacturer Airbus will produce A330 model aircrafts in its second factory to be launched in China. The production in this new factory based in Tianjin city near Beijing in norhtern China will kick off in Sept. 2017.

Airbus with main base in French city Toulouse as well as German city Hamburg, has included a factory in China to its production line in 2008. The factory's first A320, a single-aisle product which is the most selling model of the company, has taken off in May 2009. Airbus also has factory to produce A320 in the U.S.

In the China-based factory, two thousand people work and produce four aircrafts a month, while parts of the aircrafts brought from across the world are combined with the productions in China at the factory in Tianjin. Accordingly, 1,200 passenger planes have been operating so far in China.

The double-aisle aircraft A330 have two models, the A330-200 which is a mid-size widebody with efficient range and cargo capacity as well as the A330-300, which is an economical mid-size widebody offering balance between range and cost.

Airbus said the Chinese market needed around 5,400 aircraft in the next 20 years.
