Mustafa Özdabak - Hasan Yıldırım - Özgür Eren - Zeki Günal / Istanbul, May 8 () - A bank robber failed to finalise his robbery as he was caught with the money he seized by the police at traffic lights.
Osman A. robbed a bank on Sıracevizler street in Sisli district of central Istanbul with a blank cartridge pistol after getting out of the way the security of the bank branch.
He carried out the robbery with the security guard’s pistol that he had seized and fled the scene on a commercial taxi at around 2pm on Thursday.
He threw one of the pistols into a field before taking the taxi. The man was caught by motorized police at a set of traffic lights while he was still in the same area with the 87k Turkish Liras and an amount of foreign currency he had robbed from the bank.
A Crime Scene Investigation team got to the bank branch for an investigation while the failed robber was taken to Ferikoy Police Station. Two staff members of the bank were also taken to the police station for identification.
