Görkem Çancı / Antalya, Oct 14 () – Riot police officers severely intervened protests of lawyers with tear gas, leaving injuries, in Alanya resort town in Antalya province, in front of the court house.

Around 40 lawyers, member of Contemporary Lawyers’ Association Alanya branch have gathered once again, to protest the Ankara blast leaving at least 97 people killed.

As the group’s protest has been intervened yesterday by police officers, the group was seeking to make their press statement today, on Oct. 14, on the stairs of court house. However police teams warned the group to disperse, stating they had not taken permission of prosecution office. As the group resisted to leave the stairs, police intervened with tear gas.

Some of the lawyers were taken to hospital, affected by tear gas. Meanwhile, Alanya district Police Commissioner Mehmet Ömür Saka offered milk and water to lawyers, to ease the exposure of tear gas.

Five HDP members in Alanya district and three members of teachers union Eğitim-Sen, eight people who have been detained at yesterday’s protests are under ungoing interrogations.
