Öykü Altuntaş / Istanbul, July 18 () - Turkish business world’s representatives called for “common sense and law” over the coup attempt that struck the country on July 15. Leading business NGOs including the Anatolian Tiger Businessmen's Association (ASKON), Foreign Economic Relations Board of Turkey (DEİK), Chamber of Shipping (DTO),  Istanbul Chamber of Industry (İSO), İstanbul Chamber of Commerce (İTO), Turkish Exporters Assembly (TİM), International Investors Association (YASED), Association of Turkish Travel Agencies (TÜRSAB)  announced a common declaration in Istanbul on Monday, underlining that interventions outside the sphere of democracy would affect especially the Turkish economy. They underscored the necessity of the “will of nation” and democracy, while saying that they expect “positive impacts on Turkish economy in the medium and long term”, as the coup attempt was repelled. “The business worlds requires “peace, trust and stability” said the statement, which vowed that the country’s strong image would rule out the initial negative impacts in the domestic and international market. All markets have reached swiftly its normal trends, according to the statement. Meanwhile, Turkish business representatives urged that coup supporters should be tried “within the frame of the law”. “We should act in common sense” they said, urging that any kind of social discrimination would help coup supporters, amid political parties’ consensus to stand against a coup d’état.
