Metin İliksoy / Gaziantep, March 23 () - A Japanese man, who was bound to join the Islamic State (IS) in Syria, was captured on late March 22 in the Nizip district of the southeastern province of Gaziantep.

Gendarmerie teams captured the man identified as M.M. while searching a suspicious car.

The suspect confessed during an interrogation that he had come to the district to cross the border and join IS, saying he met a Syrian person on the phone and was convinced to join the jihadist group.
