Çağatay Kenarlı / Istanbul, March 23 () - Three suspects with alleged links to the Islamic State (IS) were detained in Istanbul ahead of suspected attacks to Turkey's German institutions and the German schools in Istanbul.

Muhammet Nas, along with two foreigners Iraqi İbrahim Ghanem Alshalawey and Syrian Ali Al Faraç were detained on March 23 after Turkish National Police and anti-terror branch teams launched operation upon intelligence for an attack.

German institutions and schools were closed after German Foreign Ministry told they have received serious intelligence for terror threat last week.

Suspects have been taken to the anti-terror branch directorate in Istanbul's Vatan street and security procedures continue.

A suicide attack has hit Istanbul's lively Taksim district on March 19 following the bombing in Ankara that killed 37 people at a bus stop.
