Gülseli Kenarli - İdris Tiftikci / Istanbul, Sep 1 () – The Fener Greek Patriarchate in Istanbul city has hosted the annual ceremony to celebrate the start of Ecclesiastical Calender, led by Patriach Bartholomeos, on Sep. 1.

Within the consultation meeting of the Patriarchate, around 140 metropolites, archbishops and episcopes in Istanbul, affiliated to the Patriarchate, have gathered in the Church along with inhabitants.

At the consultation meeting launched on Aug. 20 to last until Sep. 2, issues such as, “The Panorthodox Sinod works and calendar launched 50 years ago, with the joint will of 14 private Orthodox Churches”, “The potential active role that the church could assume regarding environmental issues”, “Bio-ethic and Church” and “Efforts for interreligious dialogues” have been discussed.
