Mustafa Oğuz / İzmir, Aug 24 () - In Aegean province of İzmir, the olive tree sapling that Fener Greek Patriarch Bartholomeos and Metropolitan Mayor Aziz Kocaoğlu have planted together within the day of remembrance of Agios Voukolos (Aya Vukla) on February 2015, gave its first yield.

Along with the olive sapling, a myrtle has been planted in the Agios Voukolos Church garden. The myrtle that has grown and branched out became the “wish tree” of locals along with domestic and foreigner tourists.

The historical church had opened its doors to tourists after restoration works and has been attracting an increasing number of visitors, particularly Greek Orthodox every day.
