Mustafa Suiçmez / Çanakkale, July 31 () - In Aegean province of Çanakkale, excavation works continue at the Parion Ancient Site with a 2,700-year-long history.

The 11th round of the excavation works are expected to unearth parts including the South Necropolis, the theatre, slope bath, Roman bath, the Agora buildings and shops.

The excavation team will also draw an archaeo-geophysical map of the ancient site.

Since 2005 the ongoing excavation works have been carried out by a team consisting of Ayşenur Bozkurt from Çanakkale Archaeology Museum, Hülya Aydın from Tokat Museum, along with 20 archaeologist, an epigraph, four mechanical engineers, three architects, 21 archaeology students and 70 workers supported by the main sponsor.

Tha Parion Ancient Site's excavations, led by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism General Directorate of Cultural Heritage and Museums, had began on July 23 this season and is expected to last until the end of September.
