ANKARA, () – Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) co-chair Selahattin Demirtaş has urged “I hail from here: The PKK (outlawed Kurdistan Workers’ Party) has to cease fire against Turkey at discretion. I am speaking with sincere intentions and not speaking just for the sake of conversation” stating that the way for ceasing PKK to be a threat relies upon a negotiation.

In this regard, Demirtaş indicated on a TV interview, “ I can hail whole day if my calls would change anything, if it was to me, however  this can not be accomplished merely through a call. The calls of mass political parties are only for soothing conscience; nothing short of deceiving the public.”

“I hail: PKK has to lay down arms against Turkey. However, my personal calls can not solve the issue. Only Abdullah Öcalan could be the authority to call, and Öcalan has announced the conditions for an armistice, which the Dolmabahçe agreement was for.  Kurdish Communities Union’s (KCK) recent statement was hinting at this” said HDP Co-chair Demirtaş.

Demirtaş has also adressed the coalition talks, indicating that a AKP (Justice and Development Party) – CHP (Republican People’s Party) coalition is a more concievable option: “The MHP (Nationalist Movement Party)  has taken up its position, noting that the party wil not form a government. According to us, Turkey should form a government.”
