Moscow, Dec 3 () - Russian President Vladimir Putin has urged Turkey would not be “let off with just tomatoes” referring to trade sanctions, underlining it would regret its downing of Russian Su-24.

Russia is not going to engage in “sabre rattling" with Turkey, Putin added, while delivering an annual state of the nation to the Parliament, on Dec 3, broadcasted on a live Russian TV.

"Turkey will not just suffer from limitations on tomatoes, construction companies. Turkey will regret many times what's been done" he said.

If anyone thinks Russia's reaction will be limited to trade sanctions, they are deeply mistaken, he urged.

Moscow has announced an upcoming ban to the import of a range of fruit and vegetables including, also chicken and chicken products, salt and cloves from Turkey, from Jan 1, 2016.
