İbrahim Yıldız / Istanbul, Jan 12 () - Turkish Airlines signed an agreement with VisitBritain to set the U.K. a “hit destination” in 2016. The campaign primarily seeks to “attract tourists to the U.K. from India and Gulf countries”.

The global marketing agreement which was launched today targets appealing more international passengers from Manchester, Birmingham, Edinburgh and London’s Heathrow and Gatwick Airports.

Turkish Airlines already flying to 284 zones 113 countries across the globe set India as a focus for 2016 targets in cooperation with VisitBritain serving to increase tourism exportation value of the U.K.

Sides held a meeting at the British Embassy in Istanbul, where the cooperation publicity meeting hosted Deputy Director General of Turkish Airlines Ahmet Olmuştur, VisitBritain CEO Sally Balcombe, as well as Ankara’s U.K. Ambassador Richard Moore.

Turkish Airlines’ Ahmet Olmuştur defined the agreements as an “exciting collocation” between the two companies, expecting a significant contribution in terms of visitor numbers.

The U.K.’s numerous regions will be discovered thanks to the cooperation, added VisitBritain CEO Balcombe, applauding the global flight network would offer growth in rising Asian and Middle Eastern markets.

British Ambassador in Ankara Richard Moore underlined the “close relations in different scenes from science to innovation and economy” and stated "the VisitBritain programme provides enlargement of Turkish Airlines and direct contribution to Turkey’s economic development through a strategic partnership”.
