Istanbul, Jan 6 () - At least 1,730 workers have died in work accidents defined as “workplace crimes” in 2015, according to Workplace Health and Safety Assembly statement released on Jan. 5.

The data included tolls recorded in December and the whole year, compiled by reports of “printed, mass and digital media, statistics of labor - trade bodies, as well as information gathered through workers and relatives of workers.

The Assembly is an independent body gathering laborers, public officers, families of laborers, doctors, engineers, academicians, journalists and media workers, legists and their organizations.

According to the statement of the Assembly, despite February when 85 people have died, these “accidents” have killed more than 100 people every month. The highest death toll was seen in Sep. in 2015 with 177 people, said the data.
