Yaşar Anter / Muğla, Aug 19 () - In touristic Kara Island off Turkey’s Bodrum district in Aegean resort town of Muğla, a herd of 20 pigs that have been famishing and thinning down have hit the beach and approached the tourists enjoying the water.

When tourist boats having harboured off Bodrum noticed the pigs, they took souvenir pictures and gave food and water to the pigs having visited the beach with their babies.

According to a touristic boat captain Tolga Çotura, this is not the first time that hungry pigs flocked to the touristic beaches. “Every year dozens of boats with tourists feed these pigs... They have gotten used to approach people. They even became the mascots of the island. They go hungry especially during summer season. We do our best to leave food and water, as the boat captains in the area” said Çotura.
