Nursima Keskin / Erzurum, June 7 () - Six people have been arrested over incidents during an election rally held by Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) co-chair Selahattin Demirtaş on June 4 in the eastern province of Erzurum.

T.T., who reportedly threw a flammable object into a van, and İ.K., who punched the van’s driver, Aydın Taşkesen, were arrested on June 5 after the two set the van on fire with Taşkesen still inside it during the rally on June 4.

Taşkesen, who resides in the Karapınar village and works in the Tekman district in Erzurum, was reported to be in serious condition.

The other four, Y.Ç., F.B., O.S. and Ü.D., were arrested after they were seen brandishing knives in video footage published on social media and several media outlets.
