Istanbul, May 13 () - World-famous German violinist David Garrett is scheduled to take the stage in Turkey for the first time on May 20. The premiere will take place at the Haliç Congress Center in Istanbul.

Garrett got his first violin at age four and made his first appearance with the Hamburg Philharmonic at the early age of 10.  At age 13, he was the youngest artist to be awarded an exclusive contract with the Deutsche Grammophon Gesellschaft.

At 18, Garrett played with the Berlin Radio Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Rafael Frühbeck de Burgos, and was hailed by critics. Three years later, he was invited to perform at the BBC Proms.

With his technique, Garrett has received the praise and support of such eminent violin virtuosos as Isaac Stern, Yehudi Menuhin and Ida Haendel.

His latest album, Legacy, reached number six on the overall charts in Germany, the highest-ranking instrumental classical album in German chart history, and reached gold status in January 2012.
