Istabul, May 8 () - One of the first national battleships of Turkey, "TCG Büyükada" moored at Büyükçekmece for The 12th International Defense Industry Fair (IDEF'15) held in TÜYAP Fair Center.

The battleship nicknamed "ghost" which moored by an anchor in Büyükçekmece coast of western Istanbul, was visited by foreign and local committees that attend the fair.

TCG Büyükada, the second ship of the MİLGEM Project, is a national battleship developed by Turkish engineers and reached a 65 percent share of domesticity in total production. It is publicly known as the ghost ship.

Also it has other supplementary properties such as small radar cross-sectional area, low heat mark and sound mark. Büyükada was started to be used on 27 February 2013, and since then saved 55 Turkish citizens from Aden, visited 13 cities in 9 countries, and publicized the MİLGEM project.

In the battleship, there are 100 staff-members, a helicopter ready to take flight, modern weapons and equipments which can detect and identify surface-underwater activities and conteract against them. In addition to Büyükada, visitors could also visit TCG Tekirdağ and TCG Ç-153 battleships.
