Öykü Altuntaş / Istanbul, Oct 13 () - Ali İsmail Korkmaz and Ali Deniz Uzatmaz… They share more than a name, as continuous violence in Turkey struck young lives.

Ali İsmail Korkmaz, 19 years old, was beaten to death by a group of police officers and civilians in the Central Anatolian province of Eskişehir during the 2013 Gezi protests. When protesters have hit streets last year to commemorate Korkmaz and condemn the brutal murder, a young man has clenched his fist and marched for Korkmaz, chanted slogans in front of the picture of the Gezi victim.

That young man, Ali Deniz Uzatmaz, was killed after the deadly twin blasts in Ankara, along with at least 96 others. He was 19 years old, a young student just like Korkmaz, when he lost is life.

As outrage sparked across country against the suicide bombings, thousands gathered to lay Ali Deniz Uzatmaz to rest. A picture showed a young woman, holding the picture of Uzatmaz shot during the protests against murder of the Gezi victim.

As the young girl chanted slogans holding his friend’s picture, her picture raised questions whether this chain of young killings would ever end in Turkey.
