Levent Yenigün / Antalya, Sep 14 () – A protocol was signed between the Kemer District Municipality and Ulupınar Environmental Protection, Development and Operation Cooperative, to protect, watch and introduce endangered caretta carettas, or loggerhead turtles, in Kemer district of Mediterranean resort town of Antalya.
The signed protocol involves Çıralı beach, Maden coast between Çıralı and Tekirova, waterside thickets of Beycik, Boncuk and Mehmetli, along with Bay of Küçük Boncuk in the region.
The protocol will promote researches for loggerhead populations, protection of the creatures, provide material and personnel support, and introduce them in international and domestic fairs.
